The first fowl was created before the earth itself. On the date that her father died, she could wrap him in her wings but had nowhere to bury him. So the gods presented her with an Earth. Grateful for the gesture, the bird took it upon herself to watch over the Earth. Noticing that the sun made the Earth unbearably hot, the bird flapped her wings, full of power and might, and a cooling breeze began to blow over the land.
